What Moves You? // What is Minnesota Movement? What do we do?

We firmly believe, and it has been shown through research, that movement can be a form of medicine, that’s why the word is part of our company name.

Simply put..
The better you move, the better you feel.
Similarly; the better you feel, the better you move.

Our job is to be a resource for the community in order to restore and improve your qualities of movement so that you’re able to do your activities and live your life without pain OR limitations of performance. That’s important to note; just because you don’t have pain doesn’t mean we can’t help you. On this subject I like asking people “What activities would you do if you knew you wouldn’t get hurt?” Or simply put “What can’t you do?” And when I ask these kinds of questions, I actually care about the answers! Your goals are my goals - whether that’s a personal best marathon or just being able to chase your kids around the yard.

Minnesota Movement is not what you’d consider a normal chiropractic clinic. One of the first things you’ll notice as you enter the clinic is a large exercise bay, weights, a treadmill, various exercise bands, and so much more. This says something about how much we value MOVEMENT as a therapy.

Next, our treatment approach may be different than what you expect as well;
When I see a new patient or a new issue, we must FIND THE WHY. Think about it this way, any symptom is a victim of the situation, but that doesn’t always equate to it being the culprit as well. For example, let’s say you have knee pain. That doesn’t mean that it has to be the knee’s fault. Sometimes we can develop knee pain because the foot or the hip isn’t doing it’s job. By taking you through a thorough movement assessment tailored to your complaints, we are able to find where your strengths and limitations of movement are. An accurate assessment allows us to be very accurate with our treatment approach.

Treatments at Minnesota Movement are broken into timed sessions. We offer anywhere from 20 to 30 to 40 to 60 minute sessions where we can do any treatment warranted from:

      1. Spinal or Extremity Adjustments

      2. Manual Muscle Therapy

      3. Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Work

      4. Kinesiology Taping

      5. Muscle Work

      6. Compression Floss

      7. Cupping

      8. And of course, MOVEMENT

Building off of that, the last step in our treatment process is hopefully preventing future issues via empowerment and ability for more efficient movement patterns. Corrective exercises, or REHAB, isn’t something to be taken lightly. These small, sometimes unsexy movements, are what allow you to do bigger, dare we say sexier, movements!

    1. When we give you an exercise to do at home it is my goal to:

      1. Find the best exercise specific for you, so that it is effective and efficient. No one likes doing 45 minutes of rehab every day.

      2. This also means that when you get better at a certain movement, we progress the pattern to match your momentum. Or, if it becomes too much, we can always step it back a notch to a more foundational movement.

      3. Most often, we will try to improve upon better stability, mobility, and motor control. Sometimes, this is simply reducing FEAR or THREAT of movement to encourage better patterns.

      4. Not only show you how to do it, but follow that up with an email which contains a video and description of the exercises we covered.

    2. At the end of the day, you probably didn’t get hurt on a table.. We’re not going to get you 100% better by working only on the table either.

Hopefully that gives you a little bit more insight to how we work and what we do here at Minnesota Movement. You ARE strong and resilient. You’re not too far gone. You deserve this. It’s not okay to live your life in pain or avoid activities you enjoy due to limitations.

So, WHAT MOVES YOU? And how can we help?
